Ⅰ. Teaching Aims:

1. Knowledge aims:

Ss can know the words correctly, such as computer programmer, pilot, violinist, and scientist etc.

Ss know the meaning of the two sentences. “What do you want to be?” and “What are you going to do?”

2. Ability aims:

Ss can use the sentence to express themselves.

The listening and speaking ability will be improved.

3. Emotional aims:

Ss would like the express themselves in their daily life.

Ss will have more confidence to speak English in some activities.

Ⅱ. Key points & Difficult points

1. Key points:

Know the meaning of the new words.

Master the uses of the two structures “what to be ” and “what to do ”

2. Difficult points:

Ss know how to use the two structures to express themselves in activities.

Ss love to cooperate with each other and learn from each other.

Ⅲ. Teaching Aids: Multimedia, pictures

Ⅳ. Teaching Procedures

1. Warming up

Greeting to the students

Sing a song together with the students “be what you wanna be ”

2. Pre-listening

Show some pictures about the places and ask who work there, what does she do?

3. While listening

Let the students listen to the context for the first time and say the general idea of the passage.

Let the students listen to it again then answer the questions on the blackboard. And raise some questions to let the students to judge it. And then teach the points of the text.

Let the students listen to it for the last time, let them to check their answers and have a better understanding of it.

4. Post listening

Let the students to practice it by pair work. And speak out which jobs do they want to have, list at least 3jobs.

After practice, let two pairs to show it in front of the classroom. Others can add something about it.

Ⅴ. Summary & Homework

Let the students to recall what we have learned today according to the backboard design.

List the most interesting job of their own, and give the reason why they like it. Then give a famous person of this field.
